Out of nine teams throughout Russia, Virtus and Rush3D managed to grab the two ESWC qualification slots.

The DotA preliminaries were played in two days' time - the groups and part of the playoffs on the first day, the rest on the second day.
Some matches were even played on the scene of "T-Modul", the same scene where KODE5 saw its winners.
Without any particular problems, the higher mentioned two teams got through to the superfinal and fought each other for pride and dignity (no money was involved in the prizes). Virtus.DotA outplayed their opponents and once again shone in the Russian skies.
Vladislav 'blowurbrain' Morozuk of Virtus.DotA mentioned the calmness of the preliminaries:
"We had mass fun playing ESWC Russia. Though I will not attend the Grand Finals in San Jose because I'm only 15 years old, I wish good luck to my team mates and I'm sure that they will show some high class games in USA."
Virtus.DotA officially informed everyone that Clement 'Puppy' Ivanov will play for the team on ESWC Grand Finals.

RecentlyRush3D placed second behind
VP for ESWC Russia, earning their spot for the grand finals in San Jose. They have also added new players like
Admiration and
FocusIRE. I caught up with PGG to learn about the team's current state.
Aside from ESWC Russia, the team recently took 3rd place at ASUS Spring 2008, ahead of theSK DotA squad. They have also placed better than Zenith when they traveled to ASUS so PGG is confident at their success.
Interview withRuSh3D|PGG:
Well first off Rush3D got 2nd place in ESWC Russia which means you qualified for the Grand Final! Will your team attend the ESWC Grand Finals?
Yes, I think we will be thereThose who are qualified get money for hotel, and our sponsors will give us money for flight!
What were the games against VP in ESWC like? There are no replays available so can you tell us about the games?
There was no difference between getting 1st and 2nd plzces, so both teams didn't want to spend much time for the final games. We played bo1 and lost. I can tell you picks/bans/lineups, if you wantBans: rush3d: potm cent zeus vp: qop spectre sp - we fp beast/ magna lock / na lina / ogre leshrak / sile shaker / bristle.
So if you didnt take the final game seriously, what were the other games like? Did you have any difficulties against other teams?
We and VP came to the final smiling, it was easy. I don't think there was a single game with score even close to equal.
Recently Admiration and FocusIRE left Q to join Rush3D! You have many players on your roster, how do you work with it? Can you tell us about your new additions?
We don't have many players. GET-LOST left us after qualifiers. Now we have 5 players from Moscow (Admiration, FocusIRE, qwerty, Drag13 and me) and two online players (Gunz and Zver). I'm happy that we have only hi-skilled players now, so now we just need to play our best
Was it because of ASUS Spring that Focus and Admir decided to join Rush3D? How do you think you performed there?
I can't say why they decided to join us. We offered it to them - they agreed. Everyone was satisfied with 3rd place, but I wasn'tAfter we won first game in bo3 we picked ursa, but it was our mistake that we thought it would be so easy to win
but anyway, top-3 is not bad with our previous players.
If you go to ESWC Grand Finals how do you think your team will do? Which team are you looking forward to playing against the mots on-LAN?
I think that russian teams will be top-1 and top-2 if they don't meet before finals. I don't care about which teams we play against. Already played against Zenith/SK on ASUS. At DH they were top 3/4 but at ASUS only top 4/16
Have you ever traveled outside of Russia? Excited to go to USA?
Yes I have gone abroad before, but of course I am really excited to go to USA!
What do you think of the new version 6.52? Does your team like it more than 48b?
For me, 6.52 is associated with pubbies. I don't wish to see it at ESWC. We prefer 6.48 instead
Ok thanks for the interview, any last words/shoutouts?
I wish good luck to russian teams. And I want Maelk to take some vaseline to ESWC!
