Three days on Magnetic Island. A little paradise where sand corns seem to defy gravity in the hourglass of life. With it's beautiful beaches and disconnection from the pulse of life it makes you feel precious and small at the same time.
The soothing sound of waves crashing into the shores makes it easy to reflect on your own and your actions, as well as get lost in daydreams.
I keep thinking back to times where I just wanted to be successful with women. Being successful with women, even the thought of that phrase lets me frown.
I came far since than, but I am still very far from any end. However, I've observed my recent progress with being natural around women. I manage to see every women as a bare scratch who will be transformed into a colourful portrait during the time I spend talking to her. Finding out about her passion and inspiration in life is the greatest gift a women can give me. I still barely manage to be unimpressed by looks, but I am getting better at value other aspects in a women much more. I am also not stunned or intimidated by a beautiful women, I just value her looks.
On of the first pieces of wisdom in meditation is the process of transformation. One is not able to really evaluate progress when it comes to working on your character. One simply always tries to realise failure and reflects on it until at one point the curtain falls and one is transformed. All the pieces of the puzzle fit together and it seems so easy.
How much time I worked on my anxiety to talk to attractive women, how often did I stumble and fail. How often did I give up. For over four years now I barely held my head above the waterline, but I always came back to work on my flaws.
Just thinking about this struggle all the years and not being able to even grasp the transformation that happened, I stand on Magnetic Island, this little paradise where every heart just beats a tiny bit more peaceful. I am just in the middle of an interesting and fast paced chapter of my book, I close it and turn towards three wonderful women who just occupied seats close to me. "So ladies, ….", I say without a fraction of doubt and smile a knowing smile. Where is my anxiety? Where is all the struggle I had the last years? It's gone, the puzzle solved. How? I cannot say, it just happened. I am fully aware that it is just a tiny step on my rocky path to improve my personality. I acknowledge this success for a second and share an honest smile with those three lovely women.
