      Each year we spend some of the planning time for The International trying to figure out ways to improve the connection between fans and the players in the tournament. We know that the majority of our viewers will be watching the tournament unfold over the internet, so we’d like to make it easier for an online fan to dig deeper into the event, the teams, and the players. In addition to wanting more detail, we know fans also love to compete with each other at predicting tournament results. This year we’re taking our first shot at addressing all of the these concepts, with an additional step that we hope will result in the tournament itself getting bigger and better as a direct result of fan enthusiasm.

      Today we’re announcing The International Interactive Compendium, a virtual book that will keep you fully up to date with the state of The International, and allow you to play games with other fans for fun and bragging rights. In addition to making you eligible for special virtual item drops throughout the tournament, it’ll also allow you to vote on tournament-related community polls, such as the selection of which player should receive awards based on their play in the tournament. After the tournament is over, you’ll be able to browse your friend’s Programs to see how successful they were in their predictions.

      Finally, to directly tie fan interest in Compendiums to the players themselves, we’re going to redirect 25% of the revenue directly into the prize pool. That means the total $1.6 million prize pool for The International is now just the starting point. The Compendium will be available in the Dota Store tomorrow morning at 10:00am PDT. For those of you planning to attend The International in person, your ticket purchase will include a Compendium.

    • Übergeil!! Auf so nen scheiß steh ich ja total und ich finde dass valve damit genau in die richtige richtung ziehlt! Ich hoffe auch dass der einblick jn die teams, in die spieler als Persönlichkeiten noch stärker ausfällt als beim letzten mal. Also viele videos, livestreams von den spielern beim spielen und interviews!

      Fast am geilsten ist ja aber der letzte punkt: das preisgeld wird durch die community selbst aufgestockt! ! Find ich prinzipiell einfach so megageil und ich denke schon dass da einiges zusammenkommen kann! Hab aber noch nicht ganz verstanden was man da kaufen kann..

      Thumps up, ich freu mich so sehr aufs international! Auch wenn ich alex weggang immernoch nicht ganz verkraftet habe aber naja ;)

      Edit: achso, dieses compendium selbst is das was man kaufen kann. Der preis steht aber nirgends oder? Ok dämpft das ganze so ein bisschen, dachte erst das wäre free und dann gibts eben noch was zu kaufen...eigtl find ichs aber gut so. Dota tv ist ja eh free und ich geb gern geld aus um das turnier zu unterstützen. Und dafür bekomm ich hier jedenfalls was nützliches und nicht nur cosmetic kack ser mich nicht interessiert. Hoffe nur dass es halt nicht zu teuer ist. 10 $?

    • Find ich ne riesen Sache. Wird zwar sicherlich einiges kosten, nach der Grenzauslotung der Preise von Valve mit dem Lina-Set sicher nicht unter 10 Euro, aber die Idee ist top. Wenn das wirklich bis zum International stetig gefüllt wird, sodass man da alle paar Tage oder so was neues findet und dann zum International das volle Coverage Paket mit Interviews und Vods vom Panel und so? Das wäre doch ultrus.

      Allstar-Match dann netter Bonus, der Profit wird teilweise an die Teams umgeleitet - so macht man Promo, Hut ab Valve - wie schon so oft.

      Naja, ich denke mal, in der Kante 15€ wird sich das Ding schon bewegen. Oder Valve dreht bisschen am Rad und machts Arcana für 30 Euronen.
      Da ich die Idee so gut finde, wäre ich mir aber noch nicht mal dann nicht sicher, ob ich es nicht trotzdem kaufen würde 8| :S FML.

    • AtoD hats angefangen, the International machts jetzt im großen Stil und in Zukunft wird wohl irgendwann jedes Dota2 Turnier Anteile aus den Shopumsätzen auf das Preisgeld draufklatschen.

    • also generell lieb ich solche tipspiele, ePenis-vergleiche etc., aber mehr als 10€ sollte das mMn nicht kosten, neue couriere hin oder her

      ich hoffe die couriere drücken den preis nicht zu sehr oder es gibt 2versionen wie beim defense ticket zb
      (oder was auch immer da dabei ist)

    • Gott ist das genial. Valve bester Verein der Welt. Hoffentlich wirds auch son Premium Coverage wie versprochen, denn bei den letzten TI's war zar im Grunde alles da, aber irgendwie hat trotzdem immer was nicht gepasst. Siegerprämierung zB.

    • Auf der einen Seite müsste es sehr teuer werden wenn man es mit dem Lina Set oder sonstigen Items vergleicht.

      Auf der anderen Seite will Valve sicher auch, dass es eine Breite Masse kauft. Dies würde sicher nicht bei 50 Euro oder so geschehen.
      Ich hoffe es wird um die 15 Euro kosten mehr als 20 würde ich wohl nicht zahlen

    • Ui 25 % gewinn geht in den Preispool. Dann wird es wohl wirklich nicht soviel kosten, damit Valve hohe Verkaufszahlen publizieren kann.

      Denke dann doch eher etwas zwischen 10-15 Euro
