I am pleased to formally announce eMazing Gaming's Fire in Ice 2007 hosted by Ignite Network. After months of planning, we have finally been able to finalize the details on the biggest DotA LAN Tournament (prize pool wise) in both North America and Europe.
When: December 27th, 28th, and 29th
Where: Chicago, Illinois, United States at Ignite Network's state-of-the-art LAN center.
For whom: For you. Aside from a few reserved slots for invited teams, this tournament is open to anyone and everyone. Yes, Swissbeatz, even you.
Prize Purse: $8000 US Dollars. $5000 first place, $2000 second place, $1000 third. This is if the tournament reaches its 16 team capacity, which I anticipate it to. For those of you who are keen on knowing the calculations, $5000 is coming from eMg pockets, and $3200 is coming from registration fees. $200 of that money is going into preparation fees.
Registration period: Begins now, ends when/if it fills.
Registration fee: $40 per player for the first 5 players of each team. $20 for each sub thereafter (explained later)
How do I register? PM me (eMg\Whisper) on mIRC in channel #eMg on either Gamesurge or Quakenet with your roster of 5 or more. You must be 100% sure you're coming. I will soon have updates on paying registration fees soon, and will relay this information to those who PM me.

The rest of the available 8 slots will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis, with the teams to first pay their registration fees guaranteeing spots.
Rules and Admins: Detailed rules will be released closer to tournament dates. However, I can assure you that they will very, very closely resemble the popular MYM PriDe rules. The staff for the event are as follows:

Ignite Network staff will have authority over all computer-related matters.
As mentioned earlier, substitutes are allowed to be registered at $20 each, with a limit of 3 substitutes. These subs may be used for any matches the team wishes. The event will be covered by Gotfrag? throughout, courtesy of PinkPriestess and MaruchanRamen.
Information on the venue
We could not have been more fortunate than to have found Ignite Network as a partner for hosting this event. Not only is their facility new, well-designed, and comfortable, but the staff members are intelligent, outgoing, generous, and very eager to benefit the gaming community. Along with allowing us to use their LAN center exclusively for three days, they will be making special accomodations for us in the form of video recording, wall-projection screen (for the spectators), and food catering. Please realize what they're doing for DotA and for gaming and be grateful.
The setup of the LAN center itself is somewhat unconventional. There are 45 identical computers, 40 of which will be used by us. They are not able to be moved from their standing locations, but Matt and I checked the place out and it is easy to separate them into sections of 5 for the teams. Is it perfect? No. But it's far more than workable. There is a concessions stand for all your caffeinated drink needs, along with a lounge area and a separated room to boot. While it cannot compare to the massive facilities of the CPL or Dreamhack, keep in mind DotA is our one and only focus for this event and this will definitely be more than sufficient to suit our needs.
Hotel and Travel information/accomodations: Matt and I will conduct some research on nearby hotels and public transportation routes for your information and convenience. Expect updates on this throughout the next couple of weeks.
UPDATE: The following link has information on the hotels nearest to the LAN center. Check them out if you wish. The closest one is within 1.7 miles. It might be possible that we will have enough people with cars at the event to provide a sort of shuttle to and from these nearby hotels. If not, the public transportation runs often.

Der amerikanische Multigamingclan emazing Gaming [eMg] richtet eine DotA Lan in Amerika (Chicago) aus. Als Preise sind 5000 Dollar für den ersten Platz, 2000 für den zweiten und 1000 für den dritten.
