"When one thinks of Merlini he or she probably thinks of his glory time in MYM as MYM|Merlini. Ben 'Merlini' Wu's DotA career stretched back all the way from 2007 when he won Dreamhack Summer with MeetYourMakers. Merlini initially did not buy the Warcraft III CD for the DotA map, where before his DotA days he was a Warcraft III ladder player in a team called Apex.After he gave himself in to DotA and joined MYM, he always was a fierce and respected opponent and figure in the community. His memorable guide on Zeus at myMYM was one of the highlights and in reality, Merlini is one of the few players who have served the longest under the MYM banner with the exclusion of Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Anderssen and Brian 'MaNia' Strandby.
About half a year ago though, the American talent decided it was his queue and left the team to join a newly created team, together with his old teammate Fear, which would soon become one of the strongest teams in the DotA scene, Nirvana.Int.
His closest teammate, Clinton 'Fear' Loomis, considered Merlini as a sparkling light bulb in winter darkness and all of us who have played with him or heard him talking with commentators like MadMortigan would surely agree with Fear.
A short time ago, Fear talked to Merlini about his absence during some weeks. He stated the sparkling light bulb Merlini represented wasn't sparkling so much anymore. The reason why is not specified.
However one could assume the television soap drama which has been going on in the team thus far could have contributed to this lack of inactivity from Merlini.

Merlini however stated that he couldn't stay in the team anymore or find a new place for competitive DotA."
